Another over 100 year old barn.............

I had spotted this barn quite a bit ago.  I have wanted to get permission to photograph it and today I got to do just that!   It has a cupola on the very top and red, typical color for barns.  It was a horse barn.  On the sides of the walls it had windows with wooden flaps .  One flap would open up and the next open down, interesting.  I am guessing for circulation.  It is a two story barn at least.  I could see through the floor to the upper level and it was huge!   What I could see though  looks to be in very good condition.  The outer walls are in bad shape but otherwise, if a barn can be beautiful this one was and especially as old as it is.  I didn't get a  name but I have been invited back.  I may do just that and see if I can't get into the upper level.   It has several small doors on the outer walls on different levels.   I had seen the barn from the highway many times and today I had time to stop.  The photo's are on Facebook and soon to be on the site.
On our way home we spotted another old house and barn...............so guess where I will be going next?
We drove by the Stephens barn that I had photographed a few months ago and it was so sad to see the old barn demolished.  Most of the lumber has been hauled away.  I am so glad I got the opportunity to photograph it.
These buildings are history and I wonder what stories they could tell!?

August in Missouri

It has been so hot the last few weeks here that spending any time outdoors is about impossible.    I am not a wimp but the heat and humidity can be down right unbearable.   Our weather is going to cool off for a few days and I will take the opportunity to take some road trips and find new things to photograph.  So keep on the look out for work posted.
I did get to photograph "Edgewood" up close and personal.  The pics are on Facebook if you are interested.  I also had the chance just today to photograph an old barn and found two Dodge Power Wagon's.  They are very old and I have no idea what year they are.  I personally did not know they made them back in the day.  Those photo's are posted on Facebook.  I will get all of these on my site ASAP.  I get busy with so many things I lose track.
I will keep getting interesting photographs and hope you all enjoy them.

Interviewed by Michael K. Corbin, the art book guy.

My interview with Michael K. Corbin "the art book guy" was published on Facebook this week.  You can find it on Michaels' site or on my Facebook page.   I will be putting the interview on my site also.

B/W Photography

You will begin to see my work in B/W more often.  I think B/W is classic and timeless.  I will probably have color occasionally because some photos are destined to be color.
I also think B/W is making a comeback.  Just my thought on the subject.  The subject matter I photograph old houses, barns, silos etc.  are meant to be in B/W.

Not done so great at this blogging thingy.

I finally got to photograph the old house between Big Spring and Readsville.   It is called Edgewood.  Interesting to see it up close and personal.  You can see the photos on my Facebook page.  I posted the color and B/W.   The house was supposed to have 27 bedrooms.  It is in very bad shape.  I couldn't so inside which was disappointing.  I did get a few shots through the windows.  There are also photos of the view from the front of the house.  The house to have been spectacular in it's day.   It is such a shame when a place like that is left to fall apart.   I will begin looking for a new project to photograph.
